A quest for an internship in New York
Hi! I'm a 23 years old web developer looking for a great
final year internship in the USA.

When the people who hire you are the ones who will have to work with you, they'll go for personality every time.
It's easy to find two developers with pretty much the same technical skills and a résumé that looks good.
But their motivation, their creativity or their interests will surely make the difference.
With this website, I am hoping to show you my motivation, my work and skills, and more importantly, that I can be a valuable asset to your team for 6 months, or more if we enjoy working together!
I am a 23 years old French web developer and amateur web designer based in Paris.
I will be graduating from EPITA, a computer science school ranking among the three top IT engineering schools in France, in July 2010.
Five years at EPITA gave me a solid knowledge of numerous programming languages, software development, and a passion for the web. I have worked on dozens of website projects using various technologies, facing new challenges and learning to solve new problems.
I'm also passionate about web design. I'm completely self-taught in this area but I read a lot, especially about grids and typography lately, and try to learn from the bests.
My passion for web design gave me a great eye for detail and I think it helps me in every aspect of my work.
EPITA curriculum is hard, intensive, and encourages team work. It made me a motivating team worker, with great interpersonal skills. It also gave me strong problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly learn new technologies.
When I'm not in front of my computer, I love spending time with my friends or playing sports for a few hours. I practiced both individual and team sports including karate for 7 years, volley-ball and tennis for 3 years etc. I like to swim and go cycling too!
To complete the fifth and final year of the EPITA curriculum, I have to do a six-month internship, starting February 2010.
Basically, the perfect internship would fit my profile by offering challenging technical goals and would allow me to keep my creative fuel running by being in relation with the design team for example.
Regarding the technical part, I'm interested in a large range of technologies, even if my first choice would be to work on a Ruby on Rails project. Nevertheless, I would enjoy working with PHP, .NET or J2EE too.
The location of the internship is also important for me.
Since I have the opportunity to live six months abroad, I figured it would be a good idea to choose a great city in a great country where I could see myself staying after the internship.
That's why I'm so interested in New York City or San Francisco, two amazing cities.
It all began ten years ago when, at the age of 13, I created my first website using MS Word, with a delightful rainbow background.
One website at a time, my passion for web design grew and I became better at it. This passion eventually led me to take an interest in web development.
I wanted to bring my designs to life and create great web experiences.
So, for nearly five years, I have been studying in one of the best French computer science engineering school, and now it's time to get a taste of the real world, and learn even more with talented people like you.
I take pride in my work and always work hard to deliver great websites.
Feel free to take a look at my work!

“ Forget the résumé, kill on the cover letter. ” said David. That's true, but you probably still want to have a look at my résumé, so here it is.

“ We hired Robin for a 5 month internship in 08/09 as a web developer. He did a fantastic job - he completed the work on time and brought a unique creative edge to the web design element of the project. Robin was also a pleasure to work with - no micro-managing was required - he's a real professional and a great talent! ”
